Lined up in the furore Abu Taher Khan, an MP from Trinamool Congress party who hails from Bengal’s Murshidabad district took his oath in the name Allah.

Tuesday, while his name was announced for attending the oath taking ritual, he stood before the microphone smiling. Like all other MPs from TMC party he also swears in Bangla. His oath taking in the name of Allah earned plaudits from social media users.

It is to be noted that in this Lok Sabha election TMC has made a remarkable success by winning parliamentary seat from Murshidabad district which is known as an invincible fort for the Congress party. However, Abu Taher Khan could perish that notion of Congress’ undefeatable status. Measuring the importance of Taher’s success in the constituency, TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee made Abu Taher Khan party chief for the Murshidabad region. This day while he is about to take oath, BJP MPs began chanting Jai Shri Ram, Vande Matram. However,
with smiling Abu Taher Ali responded to the situation. He started his oath with Bismillah-hir Rahmanir Rahim invoking the name of Allah.
