TDN World Desk: Veteran Bollywood actor and screen- writer Kader Khan passes away on Monday, December 31, in Canada. He was 81. He was suffering from prolonged illness and was hospitalized in Tronto, Canada. 

Kader Khan’s son Sarfaraz confirmed news agency PTI of his father’s death. “My dad has left us. He passed away on December 31 at 6 pm as per Canadian time due to prolonged illness. He slipped into coma in the afternoon. He was in the hospital for 16-17 weeks”, Sarfaraz told PTI. Kader Khan’s son also confirmed that the last rites will be performed in Canada. 

“The last rites will be performed here in Canada only. We have our entire family here and we live here so we are doing it”, Sarfaraz added. 

Kader Khan had developed breathing issues and the doctors had reportedly transferred him from regular ventilator to BiPAP ventilator. 

As per reports, he was suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia. 

Born in Kabul, Afganistan on 23rd October in 1937, Kader Khan made his niche as mainly as a comic actor. As an actor he made his debut in bollywood film in Yash Raj’s movie Daag. Besides acting in over 300 films, from 1977 to 1999 over a span of 22 years he has also written dialogues for 250 films. 

Thousands of his followers and fans in social media sayed prayer for the peace of his soul. 

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar expressed grief over his death and paid tribute. Actor, Amitabh Bacchan, Anupam Kher, Varun Dhawan showed their condolences in his sad demise.
