TDN World Desk: On Saturday, a special CBI Court convicted former BJP MP Dinu Bogha Solanki and six others in connection with the murder of a RTI activist Amit Jethwa in the city of Ahmedabad in 2010.

The RTI activist was gunned down on July 20, 2010 for his role in exposure of a land mining corruption in Gir forest. Through RTI replies the RTI activist unveiled the alleged involvement of the former BJP MP in that illigal mining activities.

On Saturday, a special CBI Court found Dinu Bogha Solanki, the former BJP MP from Junagadh and six others guilty in Jethav’s murder case.

Apart from Solanki, among the other five convicts, one was his nephew Shiva. They were pronounced guilty on charges of murder and criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Earlier the Murder Case was probed the Gujrat police. However, After the state investigating team gave clean chit to the parliamentarian, Jethwa’s father Bhikhabhai Jethwa then moved the high court seeking a re-trial. Thereafter the HC intervened into the case and gave a fresh trial order in 2017. And on Saturday, Virat High Court held six person including the former BJP MP guilty in the Right to Information activist’s murder case.
