Own Correspondent, TDN World: Aid group Human Welfare Foundation received ‘Excellent NGO’ award from Delhi Minority Commission for its remarkable contributions and dedication in rendering humanitarian services to the needy, marginalized across the country.
On Monday, Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan, chairman of DMC (Delhi Minority Commissioner handed over the award to Mr. Rafeeq Ahmad, Secretary of HWF and Mr. Noufal PK. acting CEO of HWF at Vighyan Bhawan, New Delhi. During the award giving ceremony Kartar Singh Kochhar and Anastasia Gill, two prominent members of DMC were also present in the dais.
With a mission to help the poor and those in need to live sustainable and self-reliant lives within safe and caring community this organisation was established in 2006 by a group of eminent community leaders. Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) has become India’s one of the leading non-governmental organisations dedicated to carrying out humanitarian and development programs to fight poverty and people’s sufferings by working in partnership with vulnerable communities’ regardless faith, caste, gender or political beliefs.
The HWF acts as an umbrella body with several distinguished and experienced community leaders on its board of trustees. It has over 200 local partners spread over 20 states, implementing 4774 projects. The number of beneﬁciaries so far is well above 9 million.
