TDN World Desk: On Sunday, Congress leader of parliament Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury attacked Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi over NRC row. While speaking in Rajya Sabha he dubbed the duo- Shah and Modi as ‘intruders’ as they are from Gujrat but have come to Delhi.

“They themselves are migrants,” said Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, “India is for everyone; is this country anyone’s property? Everyone has equal rights in this country. Amit Shah ji, PM Modi ji are themselves intruders. Your houses are in Gujarat but you have come to Delhi, you are migrants.”

At present, Ruling BJP is in intense pressure over NRC and CAB. In a recent meeting with Union Home Minister the northeastern states leaders opposed Citizenship Amendment Bill saying it will harm the regions ethnic identity. NRC also became a key concern for the saffron party as Congress chief Sonia Gandhi questioned the procedure of NRC in Assam citing people are in fear. In Bengal by poll BJP also faced a major setback losing all the three seats. Ahead of 2021 assembly election in the BJP state leaders expressed concern that NRC may play havoc to damage their vote bank.
