TDN World Desk:  Assam is not happy with the Citizenship Amendment Bill. On Wednesday as the bill is tabled in Rajya Sabha the people of Assam shows massive protest.

Unrest in Assam continues for the consecutive third day. Student organizations and NGOs staged protest across the states. As agitation escalated in the region internet services has been suspended for 10 days. Curfew was imposed in the city of Guwahati.  Reportedly the situation in the state got so grave two columns or about 150 personnel of the army have been asked to remain on standby. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal was stuck at the Guwahati Airport. Thouisands of protesters torched vehilces, tried to barge police barricades.

The train services have been disrupted in the Northeast region. Many trains have been cancelled and some have been rescheduled including Humsafar Express and Kanchanjunga Express.
