TDN World Desk: The Citizenship Amendment Bill is to be tabled in Rajya Sabha. The Bill is being discussed in the upper house of Parliament toady. For the last few days protsets erupted in across India. The people of Northeast have been staging fierce protests demanding rejection of the bill.

The US commission has expressed concern describing the divisive nature of the Bill. International media such as New York Times, BBC, Al Jazeera have also carried articles citing the Bill anti-muslim.

Various opposition leaders have stated strong disagreement over the bill saying it violates the several Articles of Indian constitution and pose threat to secular fabrics of the country. Over 1,000 inteleectuals, scholars, and right activists have signed a statement protesting the bill.
