TDN World Desk: Since last three days protests over CAB intensifies in parts of India, especially in the North East. After Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Meghalaya and Andhra Pradesh was cancelled, Japan PM put off India visit.
Mininstry of External Affairs has confirmed that japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has postponed India visit. Abe’s India tour was scheduled between December 15 and 17.
“With reference to the proposed visit of Japanese PM Shinzo Abe to India, both sides have decided to defer the visit to a mutually convenient date in the near future,” MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said via Twitter.
Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said that his country will hold discussion with the Indian autrhority to set the appropriate timing of Abe’s visit to India.
Taking note of Assam turmoil he said, “Japan is very disappointed with the developments in India.”
Two people were killed in Assam. Heavy armed force deployed in the region. The protesters demand to repeal CAB. The fire of protests is also spreading in others parts of India such as Delhi, Bengal, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh.
