CHITTAGONG: Detective driver Raihan Uddin, 28, was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in Natalia Baribandha area of Sitakund upazila on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Raihan, son of Malawal Haque of Golabaria area of Sitakund upazila.
Two local guns, one bullet, two knives, 10 round bullets and 5 thousand pieces of yaba were seized from the spot.
Jhenaidah: Police have claimed that one person has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ between the drug dealers of Shailakupa. The gunfight took place around 1pm on Saturday. The name of the deceased could not be known.
Shailkupa Police Station OC Alamgir Hossain said a gunfight took place in the area at Barada Jamalpur, Jhenidah-Kushtia highway at around 1:15 pm. An unknown drug trader was killed at the time. Noakhali: Top drug businessman ‘gunfight’ with police in Sonaimuri upazila of Noakhali. Hasan Prakash Yaba Hassan (35) has claimed that he has been killed. At that time three policemen were injured. Police recovered arms, bullets and yaba from the spot.
The gunfight took place at the Bagdia Ijtema ground in the municipal area of the upazila on Saturday night. One LG, seven cartridges, one ramada, three long chutes, one photo and 120 pieces of yaba were recovered from the spot. The deceased was son of Hanif Mia of Bagadia Miyabari of Hasan Sonaimuri municipality. The injured were identified as Police Constable Sohag, Zahir Majumder and Golam Samdani.
Meherpur: A drug cartel named ‘Hafizul Islam’ alias Hafizi, 45, was killed in a ‘gunfight’ in the gang of drug smugglers in Gangni. The deceased was identified as Hafizul Islam, son of the freedom fighter, Haraz Uddin of Gangni Degree College.
The incident took place at around 1:30 pm on Saturday in the gunfight of Amjad Hossain, a resident of Gannabariya Bathan area under Kathuli Union of Gangni Upazila. Police recovered a local pistol and 112 bottles of Phensidyl from the spot.
Kushtia: Alamgir Dal (35), a drug businessman, was killed in a gunfight with police in Kushtia. A ‘gunfight’ incident took place at city’s Housing ‘D’ block ground on Saturday midnight on Saturday. Police claimed that four of their members were injured in the incident. Police recovered arms, ammunition and drugs from the spot.
Mymensingh: A drug businessman was killed in Mymensingh with a Detective Branch (DB) in ‘gunfight’. This incident happened in the city’s Morakhola area around 1:30 pm on Saturday. District Detective Police (DB) constable Humayun and Constable Amir Hamza were seriously injured in the incident. They were admitted to the local police lines hospital.

Bagerhat: Police have claimed that a drug dealer named ‘Bulbuluddin’ ‘Mitul Biswas, 45, was killed with police in Chitalmari area of Bagerhat. This incident happened on Saturday night at Chingguri Mochandpur area of the upazila. The deceased was identified as Mitu, son of Khoka Biswas of Mokandpur area. Police said the search was conducted on the spot, a shutter gun, two rounds of bullets, two kg of cannabis and 100 pieces of Yaba tablets were seized. There are 22 cases, including 9 drug cases, assassinations and police assault against the drug dealer who was killed.
Khulna: A drug vendor named Abul Kalam (40) was killed in ‘gunfight’ with police in Khulna. The incident took place around 3pm on Saturday at Barakpur Siddikpasha Fayaghat of Dighalia upazila of the district.
Khulna District Superintendent of Police (SP) SM Shafiullah said that on Sunday morning, 100 pieces of Yaba were found near Kalam. He was a wholesale seller of the drug. According to the police superintendent Abul Kalam, there are 5 cases under the Narcotics Control Act.
Thakurgaon: A person named Rafiqul Islam alias Taliban (55) was killed in ‘gunfight’ with police in Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon. This incident happened in the area of Bhairania Miradangi under Ranisankail upazila early Sunday. Police claimed that Rafiqul was a drug dealer, police said. Rafiqul’s house in Bhaurania village of the upazila. Rafiqul has more than 20 cases under the Narcotics Act, said Ranisankail Police Station OC.
