TDN World Desk: Bilateral relations between China and US hits a new. On Monday, China sanctioned on US NGOs and suspended warship visits in its docks as a punitive measure against Washington for backing the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong.

The financial hub has been locked in violence and unrest over demand of greater autonomy.

“In response to the unreasonable behaviour of the US side, the Chinese government has decided to suspend reviewing the applications for US warships to go to Hong Kong for (rest and) recuperation as of today,” foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a regular press briefing.

“China urges the United States to correct its mistakes, stop any deeds and acts of interference in Hong Kong affairs and China’s internal affairs,” she added.

While China announced sanction on US, it attempts to strengthen strategic partnership with, the arch-enemy of US.
