TDN World Desk: While the modern world is yet to discover coronavirus vaccine and helplessly fighting to overcome the pandemic some of the international media are highlighting the basic teaching of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) stipulated over cleanliness, health and hygeine.

Spanish newspaper ABC on Friday, April 3 significantly published an article titled “Prophet Muhammad’s Incredible Tips for Surviving a Pandemic” .

“It is incredible to think that, 1,300 years ago, an illiterate … without any scientific training already knew, step by step, what to do during a pandemic. [His] name was Muhammad, he founded Islam and reflected … his recommendations to avoid the pandemic,” reads the article.

in a sreparate article published in American magazine Newsweek, author and intellectual on Christian and Muslim relations Dr. Craig Considine has commended the 1,400 years-old sayings of Prophet Muhammad, which advocated for handwashing, self-isolation, and avoiding physical contact.

Dr. Craig mentioned prophet Muhammad’s saying, “If you hear of an outbreak of plague in a land, do not enter it; but if the plague outbreaks out in a place while you are in it, do not leave that place.”

“Those with contagious diseases should be kept away from those who are healthy,” he quoted another hadith (saying) of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

Here are some Hadiths of the Ptophet that Dr. Craig quoted in the American magazine.

“Cleanliness is part of faith.”

“Wash your hands after you wake up; you do not know where your hands have moved while you sleep.”

“The blessings of food lie in washing hands before and after eating.”

Dr Craig also mentioned how Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would encourage his followers to take medicines as precautionary measures while seeking protection from God.

“Make use of medical treatment,” he (the Prophet) said, “for God has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it, with the exception of one disease—old age.”
