TDN World Desk: Turkish President Recep Tyaap Erdogan arrives in Qatar on Monday and will meet Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani  on an official visit to discuss regional issues and bilateral relations, reports Al Jazeera.

The bilateral meeting will be presided over by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, according to a statement from Turkey’s Directorate of Communications.

A number of agreements are expected to be signed between the two countries during the meeting. Reportedly, Erdogan will also attend the Qatar-Turkey Combined Joint Force Command.

Thi is 5th meeting of Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee.The last meeting of Turkey-Qatar High Strategic Committee was held in Istanbul in November 2018.

Quatar and Turkey shares strong relationship. Both the countries have been through hard times for their different stands in regards to Palestine, Egypt and Syria. Eralier Qatar was boycotted by Saudi led gulf states. Qatar was the first country to call up Turkish President and stand by the country after the military’s coup attempt foiled.
