TDN World Desk: Tunisian President Yousuf Chahed signed an official circular banning niqab, a full face veil, in government institutions. The circular issued on Friday, following two suicide bombing on June 27 in the capital, Tunis, that left two people dead.

Before 2011, under the autocratic rule of Zine El Abdine Ben Ali and Habib Borgubia wearing Islamic dress including niqab was banned in Tunisia. after revolution the newly formed government in 2011 lifted the ban.

The niqab ban will be effective for both the visitors and the office staffs as well, said sources.
