TDN World Desk: In last couple of weeks a number of Indian expats were expelled from jobs in the gulf states over their involvement of promoting and nurturing Islamophobic views. In a fresh develompent, an Indian origin man was fired from job at a school in Canada for a tweet that exposes his anti-Muslim bigotry.
In a tweet the accused man, Ravi Hooda posted an Islamophobic posts. He wrote, “What’s next? Separate lanes for camel & goat riders, allowing slaughter of animals at home in the name of sacrifice, bylaw requiring all women to cover themselves from head to toe in tents to appease the piece fools for votes.”
Hooda’s Tweet was aimed at against several Canadian city municipalities allowing azan over loud-speaker duing holy Ramadan amid ongoing lockdown.
Last week, several Toronto-area municipalities granted local mosques permission to broadcast the azan or call to prayer over speaker. The move was wlcomed by the Muslims across the world.
But,Hooda got enraged over the news and made the anti-Muslim remark over Twitter platform.
Reacting over Hooda’s remark, Peel School Principal nnounced that the man was terminated and also removed from the School Council.
On Tuesday evening, Canadian real estate company Re/Max also announced that the company has fired him from the job.
“We do not share nor support the views of Mr. Hooda. We can confirm he has been terminated and is no longer affiliated with RE/MAX,” the company tweeted.
