TDN World Desk: During Tuesday’s hearing at Tis Hazari court, Judge Dr. kamini Lau slammed the Delhi police observing that ”It is one’s constitutional right to protest”.
Judge Lau further slammed the Delhi Police for imposing prohibition at the protest of Jama Masjid. In respond to the Prosecutor’s argument that Chandra Shekhar Azad gave call for protest at Jama Masjid, and he should not be granted bail, the Judge said, ” You are behaving as if Jama Masjid is Pakistan. Even if it was Pakistan, you can go there and protest. Pakistan was undivided part of India.”
The Judge asked the if there was any evidence against Bhim Army Chief Chandra Shekhar Azad of fomenting violence.
Azad was arrested on Dec. 21, 2019 for allegedly provoking people to resort to violence during the anti-CAA protests.
The judgement for the bail plea of Bhim Army chief has been reserved till 2 pm tomorrow, the live law reported.
