TDN World Desk: Amid rapid spike in coronavirus cases Azim Preji’s Wipro has opened India’s first COVID-19 dedicated hospital in Pune.

Last Thursday Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated Wipro’s intermediary care facility at Hinjewadi that recieved an additional 450 beds.Wipro also provides 2 well-eqipped ambulances

Wipro has re-purposed its IT campus into a Covid hospital on a public-private partnership basis.

Speaking over the humanitarian contribution,Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji said,”We are completely committed to supporting the country’s response to the pandemic and believe that we must all work together to deal with this crisis and minimise its human impact.We stand firmly with the government of Maharashtra in its battle against COVID-19.
