TDN World Desk: Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad launched new political party- namely ‘Azad Samaj Party’.
Till this day Bhim Army has no presence in the political sphere. Significantly Dalit leader Azad launched his political party on the very day, March 15 , when it marks the 86th birth anniversary of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) founder Kanshi Ram.
After announcement of his political Part, Chandra Shekhar Azad tweeted a poetic rhyme in vernacular, “Sahab Kanshi Ram tera mission adhoora, Azad Samaj Party karegi poora (The incomplete mission of Kanshi Ram will be completed by Azad Samaj Party).”
Azad said that besides his new political party, the Bhim Army organization will also work in parallel and work to assert the rights of Dalits.
Chandrashekhar is a staunch vocal critic of BJP, RSS. He professes himself as an Ambedkarite. Of late, Azad was jailed for leading anti-CAA protest at the iconic Jama Masjid, and released few days later after police fails to produce evidence against him.
