TDN World Desk:The heart-wrenching picture of three-year-old children sitting atop the dead-body of his grandfather has triggered spate of protest in the valley. But, what shocked people the most is the claim of the family members that the man was killed by police personnel, not by the gunfire of the militants.
According to news outlet Kashmir Walla, the family members of the slain civilian have alleged that he was killed by the gun-shot of the police personnel, not militants. He was dragged out of his car and then shot dead.
“They killed him and then kept his three-year-old grandson on his body,” the bewailing wife of the killed man points finger at the police personnel.
“Locals said that he (Khan) was brought out of his car and shot dead by the forces,” Farooq Ahmed, a nephew of the victim told AFP.
The sound of the gunshot still haunts the three-year toddler. The little children shares the incident of the killing of his grandfather.
“We don’t want to question the child about his grandfather because this could hurt him even more. When anyone takes his grandfather’s name, he says, ‘Papa ko thak thak kiya,’ said Nida Khan, the child’s aunt was quoted by Huffpost India.
Army oficials refuted the claim of the victim’s saying it is “totally untrue”.
Speaking to ANI, Zulfiqar Hasan,ADG of Central Resrve Police Force said,”It was an unfortunate incident.I think some people have tried to give it a spin by saying that CRPF took him (a civilian) out of the vehicle & shot him. It’s totally untrue.”
