TDN World Desk: Atrocities on the Dalit community has incresed during the Covid-19 pandemic. In a shocking incident, a Dalit lawyer and activist in Gujrat’s Kutch district was killed on Friday over his Facebook posts critical of Brahminism.
The accused Bharat Raval who worked in a stationary shop in Malad West,Mumbai is a Brahmin. Police arrested Raval on saturday.
The victim, Devji Maheshwari, was a lawyer and an activist of the All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation (BAMCEF).
His last social media post was a video of BAMCEF National President Waman Meshram. The post said that the members of Scheduled castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes are not Hindus.

Apparently as evident from his FB profile, the Dalit lawyer of Gujrat High Court Devji Maheshwari was also against the CAA-NRC.
V L Matang, National President of the Bahujan Mukti Party wrote PM Modi seeking CBI intervention in the murder case. ““The (Kutch) district police registered an FIR at 1 am on Saturday, eight hours after the murder took place, and named nine people as accused… The police’s behaviour seems suspicious and we suspect that the district administration is attempting to shield the accused. We expect you to issue an order for a CBI probe within 24 hours of this letter reaching your office,” The Indian Express quoted his letter.
