TDN World Desk: Murshidabad police on Wednesday detained a BJP worker and his five associates in connection with throwing stones at train engine.

Local people allegedly caught them red handed while throwing stones at train engine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday made controversial clothe remark. He said that the protesters aginst Citizenship Act can be ‘identified by their clothes’. Without mentioning any particular incident Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that BJP was buying skullcaps before participating in vandalization and pass on the blame on a particular community.

According to Murshidabad police report, on Thursday the residents of Radhamadhabtala village had caught six people red handed including one BJP worker. They were throwing stones at a train at Sealdah-Lalgolah line . The detained BJP worker has been identified as Abhishek Sarkar ( 21).

The Telegraph quotes district police chief, Mukesh who said, ” The youths claimed they had worn lungis and skullcaps for the sake of a video they were shooting for their YouTube channel. But they could not prove the existence of any such channel.”

While BJP district president denied Abhishek Sarkar’s allegiance with the party, local BJP sources confirmed that Sarkar was a party worker.
