TDN World Desk: When it comes to Indian Politics, it is unpredictable. In a majorsetback to Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, the Gujarat High Court on Tuesday invalidated the Dholka constituency election results in 2017 on ground of malpractice ands manipulation.
During the last assembly election the BJP leader and cabinet minister Chudasama had won from Dholka constituency in Ahmedabad by a margin of 327 votes in 2017.
A case was proceeding in Gujrat High Court over the validity of election win of BJP leader Bhupendrasinh Chudasama.Congress candidate Ashwin Rathod challenged his opponent’s election victory alleging that the elections were misconducted in violation of the poll code.
Currently Bhupendrasinh Chudasama charge of the education, law and justice, legislative and parliamentary affairs, and some other departments in the Gujarat government headed by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
In his petition. Rathod contended the 429 postal ballots, which ought to have been counted initially, had been rejected illegally by returning officer (RO) Dhaval Jani.
During the hearing, Justice Paresh Upadhyay declared the BJP leader’s electio win as invalid.
