TDN World Desk: Suspicion, hatred against religious minority Muslims has been increasing day by day. On tuesday, A 51-year-old man refused to collect groceries from a delivery man after learning that he was a Muslim, The Indian express reported.

The shocking incident took place on Tuesday morning when Barkat Patel,32, reached at the home of Supriya Chaturvedi at Jaya Park at 9.40 am. As per delivery order, Patel was about to give Chaturvedi her parcel outside the gate of her apartment complex, but Chaturvedi’s father, Gajanan intervened from taking the parcel.

Barkat, who was victim of communal slur by the accused as well,recorded a video of the incident and delivered it to police. The accused Gajanan asked his name and learning his Muslim identity refused to take the ordered stuff.

“The lady wanted to take the parcel but the man said no. When he said he would not take parcel from Muslims, I did not say anything and started to record him on my phone. It was very hurtful,” said Barkat.

After Barkat files a complaint at Kashimira police station and showed the recorded video clip, police took immediate action. Case registered against Gajanan for deliberately discriminating with Patel for his religious identity.

The accused was arrested from the same place where Patel was to deliver the groceries, confirmed Sanjay Hajare, the senior police inspector of Kashimira police station.
