TDN World Desk: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhv thackrey led a blistering attack on Modi government by drawing a parallel between Jallianwala Bagh massacre and the police brutality in the Jamia Millia Campus on Sunday night.

Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv sena chief and former long-standing ally of BJP, condemning the violent action of the police, said as quoted by The Indian Express, “There is a deliberate attempt to create an atmosphere of unrest in society. The way police opened fire on students by forcefully entering the compound, it appeared like the Jalianwala Bagh massacre.

Thackeray’s came two days after police barged into the Jamia compound and fired tear gas and brutally charged lathi on the students. The VC of Jamia sought a high level enquiry over the incident.

On Tuesday, Thackeray further said, “The youth are like a bomb which should not be triggered. It is my humble request to the prime minister.”
