TDN World Desk: BS Yediyurappa, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, on Sunday announced Rs 10 lakh as compensation money for the families of the two people who were killed during the protests in Mangaluru on Dec. 19.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Jaleel(49), a fish market labour, and Noushan Kudroli, a welder. Both of them died as police opened fire during the protests in Thursday aginst the controversial Citizenship Act.
Reportedly Chief Minister Yediyurappa paid a visit to the breaved families.
” Compensation will be given as per law. I have also asked the authorities to consider building homes for the families of the persons who died,” Yediyurappa was quoted by The Indian Express as saying.
