TDN World Desk: This year Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan will be invited by the Modi government to attend Shanghai Organisation (SCO), reported NDTV.

SCO is consisted of eight countries -India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan – and four observer states, Afghanistan, Belarus, Iran and Mongolia. It was founded in 2001 by Russia. India and Pakistan was included in the eight-member economic and security bloc in 2017.

Indian government has made the official announcement of the invitation of Imran Khan in the summit today (Thursday).

“India will be hosting the heads of government summit later this year. As per established practice and procedure, all eight members and four observer states and other international dialogue partners will be invited… all eight members will be invited,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar was quoted by NDTV as saying.
