New Delhi – Mohammed Salman Ahmed has been elected as the national President of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) for the term 2021-22.
SIO is a value based student body which is spread all over India. The organisation describes itself as an ideological organization working in the country since its inception on 19th October 1982 for the social progress and development of the students’ fraternity.
Salman was opted for the President’s berth after the Zonal Advisory Council members of various states’ reacehd a consensual decision in a meeting held on 29-30 November in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
Mohammed Salman hails from the state of Maharashtra. At presnt, Labeed Shafi holds the Presidential berth. Salman will be succeeding him.
Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) caught limelight on various occasions for its extensive social and humanitarian works. Of late, the organisation has recieved wide acclaimation for its humanitarian deeds during lockdown period and very recently during Hyderabad floods. Its cadres have volunteered the aid-work and rescue operation in a selfless way.
The aim of the organisation, as it calims in its official website, is to impart genuine knowledge and awareness to students and to prepare them in becoming torch bearers of morality and ethics to fight against evils by reinforcing their own life. The organization also strives for promoting values in educational system and better academic and moral atmosphere in educational institutions. SIO focuses its efforts to nurture the talents of students in such way that it may benefit the society.
