TDN World Desk: The Supreme Court on Monday reserved orders on the writ petition filed by Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV, seeking to quash the FIR registered by Mumbai police for allegedly creating communal animosity with his reportage of the Migrants gathering in Bandra, Live Law reported.

During the hearing of the case, A bench comprising Justices D Y Chandrachud and M R Shah granted interim protection from coercive action on the FIR till court pronounce its judgement.

Skeptical of Mumbai police, Republic TV Editor Arnab also sought transfer of the probe to the CBI, an invetigation agency that monitored by central government.

The Supreme Court has indicated that the case would not be shifted anywhere and would be judged at Bombai High Court.

“If you want the quashing of this FIR, the Bombay one and the new one, then you can move the HC. We had earlier intervened due to the multiplicity of FIRs arising out of the same cause of action,” Justice Chandrachud, who led the bench, orally said.
