TDN World Desk: After Palghar mob lynching incident, two sadhus were hacked to death inside a Shiva temple at Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr.

The mutilated bodies of two priests were found on Tuesday morning. The murdered duo identified as Jagdish alias Rangi Das (55) and Sher Singh alias sewa Das (45).

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi lashed out at Yogi Adityanath government for the deterioration law and order situation in the state and urged a fair investiation into the two sadhus’ murder incident.

“Today in Bulandshahr, two sadhus were murdered while they were sleeping. The truth must come out after investigation in this heinous crime and at this stage no body should politicise this issue,” National Heral quoted Priyanka.

“In UP before April 15, about 100 people have been murdered. Three days back in Etah, five of a Pachauri family were killed so mysteriously that nobody knew what has happened,” she added.

According to Police, no communal angel in it. The priests were murdered following an altercation between the accused and the priests over alleged theft of a tong chimta) that belonged to the priests.A man called Raju has been arrested and charged with murder.

Ravindra Kumar,a senior government official, told NDTV, “Raju said he had bhang (cannabis) and went into the temple and murdered the priests. We asked him about reports he attacked the sadhus with a sword but the accused claims he only used lathis.”

Another senior police officer Santosh Kumar Singh, told the media, he two babas lived here at the temple. One person named Murai alias Raju, who belongs to a scheduled caste, took away a ”chimta” (tongs) for which he was scolded and abused by the priests. After the murder, villagers were looking for him and spotted him drugged with bhang”.

Having recieved the news Uddhav Thackeray, Maharashtra Chief Minister spoke to UP CM Yogi Adityanath over phone call and asked him take necessary steps.
