TDN World Desk: Uttar Pradesh cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to passage Rs 234 crore for construction of a Zoological garden named after Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan in Gorakhpur, reported The Indian Express.
Cabinet minister and government spokesperson Srikant Sharma said that the purpose of the Zoological garden is to conserve wildlife.
The proposal to build Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khand Zoological Garden was recorded in 2008-2009.
” With this zoo, Gorakhpur will be developed as a tourist spot and would be recognised internationally with this project,” said Srikant Sharma.
Freedom fighter Ashfaqullah Khan along with Ram Prasad Bismil were given death sentence by British government.
