YouTube platform has taken down a number of songs written in Punjabi language, after recieving instructions from the BJP government at the Centre, The Hindu reported.
For instance the song Ailaan dedicated on the protesting farmers has solely attracted over 60 lakh viewers before it was blocked by YouTube .
Citing the reason for blocking of the video, YouTube notifies a message that states: “This content is not available on this country domain due to a legal complaint from the government.”
As per Scroll news website, YouTube has taken down two songs so far. The other song is ‘Asi vadangey’ (We will break you) by singer Himmat Sandhu. Both the song reflects on the need to repeal the farm laws.
Another microblogging site has already invited government’s ire by with a government’s order to withhold 1,400 accounts.
