Own Correspondent, TDN World, Kolkata: Various Organizations have already demonstrated against NRC. After miserable defeat in all the three seats in by election in Bengal, the saffron brigades are also debating over the contentious NRC issue. Amid this political uproar, Shiv Sena, the former ally of BJP, also announced that they will be taking out protest rally in the streets of Bengal over the NRC bill.
Ashok Sarkar, the state general secretary of Shiv Sena, told this reporter that their party will be leading a protest rally in December.
But, why Shiv Sena wants to arrange meeting and protest rally against NRC? Mr Sarkar said, ” If NRC is implemented, the poor people will suffer. It is nothing but an instrument to harass people. In Assam, we saw how poor people have been harassed. Besides, at the face of dire economic slowdown in the country implementing NRC means to waste public money. And the kind of corruption report coming up from Assam, in relation to NRC is far bigger than that of Narda and Saradah.”
BJP’s NRC policy in Bengal is primarily blamed for its catastrophic defeat in Bengal’s by poll election. Many organizations have started carrying out no NRC movement. People of Bengal are unitedly protesting the National Register Citizenship that’s why Shiv Sena is taking to street against NRC? The party general secretary said, “No. It’s not the case. We have already demonstrated against NRC a month ago. We will again be taking to street. We should realize it will affect the poor people.”
