TDN World Desk: As per preliminary results declared by Election Commission of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani secured 50.64 % votes.
However, the presidential pole carried out on Sep. 28 may be challenged by the opponents. The announcement of the poll results was already made in delay amid accusations of technical problems and partiality in ballot countings.
In 2019 presidential election the main opponent of Ashraf Ghani was Abdullah Abdullah. He serves as Chief Executive in the country.
Presidential candidate Abdullah’s office rejected the results as “not legitimate”.
“We will never accept results based on the fraudulent vote without considering the legal demands of the candidates,” statement issued by Abdullah’s office reads.
