TDN World Desk: The students of Malaysian University IIUM expressed concern over the Indian government enacting Citizenship Act.

Issuing a press statement, the students’ Union body from the International Islamic University Malaysia said, ” The IIuMSU condemns any ruling that look to discriminate against groups of people unjustly. It is of the view of the IIUMSU and ASI that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) bei g proposed in India is one of such rulings that are discriminative, oppressive, and non-constitutional in nature.”

The Malaysian student body also extends solidarity to th Association of Indian Students (ASI).

“In regards to the recent news coming from the nation of India, the IIUM student Union calls on fellow students across Malaysia to support our brothers and sisters across borders,” the communiqe reads.

Earlier Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed said “people are dying” because of Citizenship Act while denouncing the law.
