TDN World Desk: Three photographers Dar Yasin, Mukhtar Khan and Channi Anand- who work for news agency Associated Press- have won prestigious Pulitzer prize for their valuable contribution in photography that cover the harsh situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370.

The names of the winners of the US-based Pulitzer prize have been announced virtually due to world-wide corona lockdown.

The photo-journlists have done remarkable work capturing “striking images of life” in Jammu and Kashmir after the Centre abrogated the territory’s special status under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy announced the winners of the 2020 Pulitzer Prizes in New York, on Monday.

As recipient of the Pulitzer,Yasin said on Monday,“It was always cat-and-mouse.” “These things made us more determined than ever to never be silenced.”

Yasin and Khan are based in Srinagar, while Anand is based in the neighboring Jammu district.

Anand has been working for 20 years with Associated Press. After his name found place in the highest prestigious award he told AP,“I was shocked and could not believe it.”
