TDN World Desk: Holi, the festival of colours brought major changes in the politics of Madhya Pradesh. On Wednesday, a aday after tendering resignation to congress, Jyotiraditya Scindia joined the BJP in presence of the saffron party’s president J.P. Nadda. With Scindia’s joining BJP, it is also the end of his 18-years long association with the Congress.

In Madhya Pradesh Congress has been the ruling party with 120 MLAs, four more than the majority mark of 116 in the 230-member assembly. If the resignations of 21 MLAs who have quitted the party with scindia are accepted, the majority mark will fall to 104. This will make it easier for the BJP – with 107 MLAs – to stake claim to power.
