TDN World Desk: Amid controversy, Amit Shah inroduced the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill in Lok Sabha. 293 members of Parliament voted in favour of the introduction of the bill while 83 said no to it.

The opposition parties like TMC, Congress have vociferously opposed the introductionof the bill. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Parliamentary leader of Congress said the bill is unconstitutional as it violates Acts 14 of the Indian Constitution. Amit Shah confronted the opposition saying that the bill doesn’t disrciminate the Muslims – “not even 0.001% against the minorities of the country”.
