TDN World Desk: After IAS, IPS officials now a veteran filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt joins in a protest rally in Mumbai opposing Citizenship Amendment Act. Duting Sunday’s protest meeting he said that it is time people unite to send across a message that the country belongs to everyone.
“It’s time for people to stand up and say this country belongs to each one of us and it is the might and the will of each one of us that has finally found an expression…,” Mahesh Bhatt said,addressing a gathering as quoted by NDTV.
Today’s meeting was held at the house of Dr B R Ambedkar in mumbai.
Few days back, over 900 scholars and intelectuals from across the country signed petition in opposition of the drafted Citizenship Bill. Then the bill was yet to pass in Rajya Sabha.
According to the amended citizesnship bill six religious minorities – Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Christians, Parsis and Buddhists – who entered from the neighbouring Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
