TDN World Desk: During the Modi regime, since 20105 as many as 254 dispalced Kashmiri Pandits have joined government services under the special package scheme announced at the centre, whereas in 2008 under the Manmohan Singh govt, a similar employment package had ensured 1,474 State government jobs were provided to the migrant youth, The Hindu in reported.

On November 7, 2015, Narendra Modi government approved creation of 3,000 additional State government jobs for Pandits at a cost of 1,080 crore under the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP).

A similar employment package was announced by the Manmohan Singh government in 2008 under which 1,474 State government jobs were provided to the migrant youth.

While replying to a parliamentary standing committee on relief and rehabilitation provided to Kashmiri Pandits,The Union Home Ministry said that “till date, appointment orders to 528 candidates have been issued and 254 have joined duties.”
